Dr. Alan Belsches is a Professor of English and also serves as the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1983) and teaches courses in American literature with a specialty of Southern literature. abelsches@troy.edu Dr. Elizabeth D. Van Loo is the Chair of the Department of English and Humanities, where she is a Professor of Philosophy. She holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Tulane University (1973). In addition to her administrative and professorial responsibilities, she is TROY-Dothan's Title III Project Coordinator and Title III Project Director. Dr. Van Loo teaches courses in philosophy, humanities, and religion. evanloo@troy.edu Dr. William Lipscomb is an Assistant Professor and teaches courses in Speech Communication, Theater, and Journalism. He has Bachelor's degrees in Speech Communication and Broadcast Journalism, as well as a Master's degree in Speech Communication Theory, all from the University of Southern Mississippi. He worked in television news on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and has extensive experience as an actor and director. He received a Ph.D. in Performance Studies from Louisiana State University. blipscomb@troy.edu Jason Griggs is an English Instructor and teaches Composition and Literature courses. He has Bachelor's degrees in English and Psychology, as well as a Master's degree in English (with a concentration in Literature), all from the University of South Alabama. He also taught English as a Second Language for five years in Japan. Dr. James N. Ortego II is an Assistant Professor of English. He holds a B.A. and an M.A. in English from the University of New Orleans with minors in Classical Studies and American Literature, and a Ph.D in English from the University of Louisiana – Lafayette. Dr. Ortego teaches courses in Medieval and Renaissance Studies as well as Composition; his research interests include textual studies of Shakespeare and Chaucer and cultural and folklore studies of Medieval Icelandic Literature. Dr. Kristin Ross is an Assistant Professor of English and teaches courses in British and American literature. She has a B.A. and an M.A. in English literature from the University of New Orleans. She holds a Ph.D. in English literature from Louisiana State University with specialties in 19th-Century British literature, feminist theory, and gender studies. Martha Turner teaches American Literature I, American Literature II, World Literature I, and World Literature II. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English from Edward Waters College, Jacksonville, Florida and a Master’s degree in English from the University of Tampa, Tampa, Florida.
