ALSDE/NCATE Visit
Dean’s Message

In the College of Education, we are committed to developing Informed, Innovative, and Reflective decision-makers, using contemporary and cutting-edge research and teaching techniques to further the field of education and to prepare educators to contribute to a diverse society. We invite you to explore our web pages and examine how the College of Education assesses and reflects on the many facets of our unit performance. The accreditation process is an important and valued element of our College and we continually seek ways to review and improve on our unit’s mission of developing the next generation of educators and instructional support personnel.

As the unit looks forward, we will focus on innovative ways to prepare education professionals and to develop a stronger and more responsive College of Education. We are dedicated to:

  • An atmosphere of continuous improvement,
  • Conducting research that will improve education,
  • Establishing environments that promote learning,
  • Strengthening alliances and partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders,
  • Continued integration of technology,
  • Exploring innovative programs,
  • Building a vision for the future and a positive image for education,
  • And embracing diversity throughout our University, College and the communities we serve

The College of Education has a rich and proud history of providing students with outstanding educational opportunities and of developing exceptional educational leaders. We look forward to our October visit and invite you to review this website for resources that will assist in providing information about our programs, our faculty, our students, and our graduates.
