Attention: ALL Education, Counseling & Psychology and Educational Administration & Leadership Students! Click here for important registration information.

Great careers in Education and Counseling and Psychology begin here and continue to grow here!  Whether you are searching for a new career or you want to learn new skills to enhance an existing career, we are here to assist you.

The College of Education offers Teacher Education degrees in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Gifted Education (grad level), Special Education, and Secondary Education.  If your bachelor’s degree is in a field other than education, we have a nontraditional master’s degree that leads to graduate level professional certification in the teaching field.  If you are a certified teaching professional who wants to earn a graduate degree while learning new skills, the instructional support areas of school counseling, school psychometry, school psychology, or educational administration may be what you are looking for.  Do you need to renew your teaching certificate?  Come see us.  We not only have new courses to help you learn new ideas and methods, we also offer credit workshops in special education to enhance your ability to work with learners with special needs.

For the graduate student who does not want to earn teacher certification, the Post-Secondary Education degree offers flexibility in a graduate program with concentrations available in many fields.

In addition to a bachelor’s degree in psychology, the College of Education has a master’s degree with five concentrations in Community and Agency Counseling.  Our newest concentration, Rehabilitation Counseling, offers a career in specialized counseling at the master’s degree level.

The College of Education’s programs are approved by the Alabama State Department of Education and accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education. Our graduates meet the Alabama No Child Left Behind definition of a Highly Qualified Teacher.

We look forward to talking with you about your career plans.
