Copper Blade Review
The Annual Literary Collection of the
Creative Writing Club

We are not currently accepting submissions

The "Copper" stand for "Wire" and "Blade" stand for "Grass"--an interpretation of the Wiregrass, the area from which the creative writings are generally collected.  The name which fits so well was suggested by John Corbin at a meeting of the Creative Writing Club way back when the club first started thinking about publishing such a literary collection.

Troy University Writing Club Presents Literary Award

DOTHAN - Copper Blade Review Editor Chris Bryant (right) presents the Troy University Creative Writing Club's 1st annual Creative Writing Award to Joseph Evans. For his winning submission, Evans receives a $100 prize. Copies of the Copper Blade Review are currently on sale on the Dothan Campus for $5. For more information, contact Jason Griggs at 983-6556, ext. 235.

THE BRENDA AMETER CREATIVE PROSE AWARD
A $100 prize chosen and awarded from the selected submissions for the current Copper Blade Review in production.  The selected submission that best exemplifies the creativity and genuine nature of the writer's craft will be given the award.  Every submission given for consideration in the collection will be eligible for the award and it will be awarded every year.  Guidelines for the contest will follow the regular guidelines of submission found below.  Prose is considered in this case to entail every submission that is not a poem.

The Troy University Creative Writing Club (CWC) on the Dothan, Alabama campus publishes an annual literary collection called the Copper Blade Review.  We accept submissions for the collection from anyone interested at no cost and an elected committee within the club chooses from the submissions which works will go into the next issue.  You do not have to be a CWC member to offer your works for consideration to the collection and writers of every age and caliber are invited to submit.

There are two categories in the Copper Blade Review: prose and poetry.  Prose is considered to be anything (short stories, essays, one-act plays) other than poetry.  There is no limit to the amount of submissions one author can make but only 1-3 works are subject to be chosen for publication depending on submission volume and publication space.  Multiple works may be submitted individually but please do not submit multiple works in one large bound collection.
