If you yearn to experience the joy of playing piano but don't want years of weekly lessons, this short course is for you! In just one enjoyable evening, you can learn enough secrets of the trade to make piano playing a part of your life, learning chords, not notes.
Students are taught to play by looking at the chord symbols that are in most popular music today, instead of reading all the notes the traditional way. This is literally a musically correct but "shorthand" way of playing that produces instant success in playing popular songs with both hands during this one evening workshop. A roomful of people can be taught with just one piano in the room! Each student will have a dummy keyboard and then will take home a 32-page book and 68-minute practice CD with which a technique can be perfected on the student's own piano.
Mr. Haynes has taught this workshop in 170 colleges and 17 community programs and arts centers in 20 states, all to rave reviews. He has a master's of music education from Andrews University in Michigan; a bachelor's of music education and a bachelor's of German from Southern College in Tennessee; and an associate degree in computer science from the College of DuPage in Illinois.
This is an absolutely beginning class in chord piano techniques and if you can find middle C and know the meaning of "Every Good Boy Does Fine," you already know enough to enroll. If not, send a SASE for a free pamphlet to Music Masters, 90 Molly Lane, Ringgold, GA 30736. The materials fee of $25 (payable to Music Masters) will be collected by the instructor during class. Students registering for piano must be at least 16 years of age and above.
