Biographical Sketch   Billy Benton responded to an appeal made to the public by Dothan Landmarks Foundation seeking photographs to be included in the forthcoming _Railroading in Dothan and the Wiregrass_, a book in the "Images of Rail" series from Arcadia Press. He contributed one photograph of his father, an ACL section foreman, with his crew of section hands going to work via a motorized handcar.

038-0619-001:  Section crew traveling to work on a converted hand cart.  L-to-R:  Mr. Booth; Dewey Benton (foreman); Unidentified; Rabe Jackson; Unidentified.  The vehicle had been converted from a hand cart by the addition of a motor, the flywheel of which could be reversed to propel the cart either direction on the track.  This crew's section of track was in Dothan, abutting the Midland City Section.
