Based on the OIRE’s mission and in light of the institutional effectiveness model, four basic functions have been developed for OIRE: 

1. Collecting, processing, and managing TROY-Dothan institutional information; 
2. Assessing and evaluating institutional effectiveness at TROY-Dothan; 
3. Reporting to the state, federal, and higher education agencies and association, as well as TROY-Dothan leadership on TROY-Dothan educational programs, student services, and administrative processes; and 
4. Coordinating and supporting all institutional effectiveness efforts at TROY-Dothan.
