On the basis of the basic
functions, the principal duties and responsibilities of
OIRE are derived
and specified as follows:
1. Report regularly to the Executive VP about the information of institutional effectiveness gathered from assessment and evaluation, with regard to TROY-Dothan educational programs, student services, and administrative processes. Provide timely and accurate data to the University leadership for decision making, planning, and improvement. 2. Coordinate on-going TROY-Dothan assessments and evaluations, monitor division and department assessment activities, and insure that results are properly documented. 3. Design, generate, and conduct new studies, surveys and other assessments and evaluations as required to collect necessary information for TROY-Dothan planning, decision-making, and improvement. 4. Harvest and manage TROY-Dothan institutional information, and respond in a timely manner to the data requests of state and federal government agencies, higher education associations, and private post-secondary educational survey organizations. 5. Support the individual, departmental, and division institutional effectiveness efforts, conduct studies requested by academic units, student services, and administrative offices and departments, and help them with student research. These principal duties and responsibilities are embodied in the primary activities which are shown in the tree diagram of the OIRE mission, functions, and activities.
