As part of Troy University Spring 2008 Commencement Exercises in Dothan, Chancellor Jack Hawkins, Jr., presents a TROY diploma to Alabama Attorney General and TROY Alumnus Troy King. When King, who served as the keynote speaker, graduated in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in history and social science, the University was known as “Troy State.” In 2005, the school’s campuses and sites merged under the name “Troy University.” Alumni can now request new diplomas reflecting the name change.

Troy University graduate Gail Mann of Graceville, Fl., gets a pat on the back from her 5-year-old grandson Nathaniel. Mann earned an alternative A master’s degree in elementary education, which certifies her to teach. The University conferred degrees on approximately 150 students, during commencement exercises May 18 at the Dothan Civic Center.

During Troy University Spring 2008 Commencement Exercises in Dothan, Troy University Sorrell College of Business Associate Dean Dr. Adair Gilbert congratulates Martha Roseboro of Ozark on her bachelor’s degree in business administration. Roseboro plans to eventually open her own catering business. Dr. Gilbert is retiring after 25 years of service to the University.

Troy University graduate Taaka Britt of Enterprise celebrates with her grandmother, Earnestine Council, at Troy University Spring 2008 Commencement Exercises in Dothan. Britt earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Troy University.

Troy University graduates Candy Trawick of Iron City, Ga., Michael Stevens of Midland City and Andy Sims of Columbia say their “good-byes” after earning social science degrees from TROY. All plan to teach. Sims says he will also pursue a graduate degree.

During Troy University Spring 2008 Commencement Exercises at the Dothan Civic Center, Rhonda Rogers of Opp and Amy Croft of Dothan congratulate each other. Both women earned bachelor’s degrees in elementary education.
