A donation from Troy University will help the
jobless in Henry County prepare for employment. Dothan Campus Interim Vice
Chancellor Bob Willis (right) presents a computer and monitor, which had been
used on the Dothan Campus, to representatives from Henry County Workforce &
Leadership Development. In all, TROY is donating a total of twenty computer
systems. The agency will use them at academies slated to open in Headland and
Abbeville in 2008 to provide tutoring and job skills training for the
unemployed, the under-employed, non-college-bound high school students and
dropouts. Pictured (from left) are Stephanie Blankenship, executive director of
the Henry County Economic Development Authority; Rob Patrick, TROY application
support specialist; Mary Claire Wilson, chairperson of Henry Country Workforce &
Leadership Development; and Bob Willis, TROY interim Dothan Campus vice
chancellor.
