Students Enjoy a Spectacular Summer with Troy University

Students enrolled in Troy University’s Summer Spectacular show off the 13-foot snake they designed and decorated. The youngsters, ages 4 to 11, are learning about everything from zoology to astronomy and geology during the 4-week summer program at Kelly Springs Elementary in Dothan. Classes are taught by Early Childhood and Elementary Education majors attending the Dothan Campus.
“Super Scientists” Sam Covert (left) and Emerson Freeman, both of Dothan, study an ant colony with Alyssa Adams, of Donalsonville, Ga. The children are among approximately 100 students participating in Summer Spectacular, which is hosted annually by the Troy University College of Education.
Troy University Elementary Education Major Vicki Respress and 6-year-old Millie Grace Linder, both of Dothan, concoct their own cola mixture during a chemistry class. Children take a hands-on, project oriented approach to learning during Troy University’s annual Summer Spectacular.
