DOTHAN – Small business owners and employees are invited to learn about the
latest safety advances and regulations during Safe Day at Troy University. The
free event, which is sponsored by the Wiregrass Safety Alliance, is scheduled
for Friday, October 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Library-Technology Building
on the Dothan Campus.Representatives from
OSHA, the U.S. Department of Labor, Sony Magnetic Products, Longbow
Falcon LLC, the City of Dothan and the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce
will provide participants with the latest information on accident
prevention. Sessions will cover electrical safety, machine guarding,
child labor laws, lockout/tagout practices and working in confined
spaces. Exhibitors will also be available to demonstrate products and
services.
Wiregrass Safety Alliance members include
the American Society of Safety Engineers, Dothan Area Chamber of
Commerce, Durden Outdoor Displays, Houston County EMA, OSHA, U.S. Army
Combat Readiness Center and Troy University.
