With the help of TROY education majors Lesley Howard (center), of Dothan, and Kerry Butler, of Slocomb, 7-year-old Anna Grace Smith, of Dothan, decorates a visor at Dothan’s Downtown Christmas Festival. More than 40 TROY students from the Dothan Campus volunteered to work with area children at the event.
Troy University elementary education major Megan Hatcher, of Dothan, works on a beading project with 7-year-old Kevin Jackson, of Dothan, at the Downtown Christmas Festival on Foster Street. TROY provides free children’s activities each year at the celebration.
During Dothan’s annual Downtown Christmas Festival, 6-year-old Kishawn Dawsey displays a Christmas ornament he painted with the help of TROY elementary education major Miranda Caldwell, of Dothan. Each year, TROY provides a variety of free holiday arts and crafts for kids. The festival is organized by the City of Dothan and the Downtown Group.
