
Gayla White joins the University’s
Advancement team as regional director of institutional
development.

DOTHAN – Troy University welcomes Gayla White as regional director of
institutional development.
In this role, White will be responsible
for cultivating and strengthening University ties within Dothan and the
surrounding communities.
A TROY alumnus, White is enthusiastic
about returning to her alma mater and joining the University’s
Advancement Office. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social science,
with minors in psychology and history.
“Troy University makes a tremendous
difference in the lives of so many in the community,” White said. “My
TROY degree has opened many doors for me, and I want to give back to the
University.”
With her strong community and University
ties, White will be an asset to the Advancement team, according to Dr.
Jean Laliberte, associate vice chancellor for development.
“We are excited about hiring Gayla,” Dr.
Laliberte said. “She has been very active in our alumni association and
has a tremendous amount of experience in fund raising with local
organizations. We look forward to our association.”
Before joining Troy University, White was
business development officer at AB&T National Bank and assistant vice
president-branch manager at AmSouth Bank. She was also co-owner of
Xpress Printing.
White has served as an elected member of
the Dothan City Schools Board of Education since 2001. The Dothan Area
Chamber of Commerce recently recognized her as 2007 Diplomat of the
Year. She is also a former Small Business Person of the Year and
Ambassador of the year.
As president-elect of the Troy University
Alumni Association – Wiregrass Chapter, White co-chaired the Troy
University Alumni Association – Wiregrass Chapter Jackson Thornton 2007
Invitational Golf Tournament presented by CenturyTel. The event is the
largest fundraiser of the year for the alumni chapter.
