DOTHAN - Learn
to cope with
stress. The Troy
University
Continuing
Education Center
will hold a
Stress
Management
Workshop on the
Dothan Campus
July 26 from 9
a.m. to 4 p.m.
Chronic stress
can have a
negative impact
on nearly every
part of the
human body,
according to Dr.
Habiba Shaw. It
can even shave
years off your
life. During the
workshop, Shaw
will share
techniques to
help
participants
more effectively
deal with daily
pressures and
life crises.
Statistics
indicate 43
percent of all
adults suffer
adverse health
effects from
stress; and Shaw
says a
surprising 75 to
90 percent of
all physician
office visits
are for
stress-related
ailments and
complaints.
Understanding
the biochemical
nature of stress
in our body and
how it affects
us is the first
step toward
managing stress.
