DOTHAN – Learn to lower your
cancer risk. The Troy
University Continuing
Education Center will hold a
Cancer Prevention workshop
June 28 from 9 a.m. to 4
p.m. on the Dothan Campus.
According to a recent report
from the American Cancer
Society, the disease is
responsible for one of every
four deaths in America.
Experts estimate half of all
men and one-third of all
women in the United States
will develop cancer during
their lifetime.
Research also indicates some
of the risk factors for
cancer can be avoided.
During the seminar, Dr.
Habiba Shaw, a nutrition and
health education specialist,
will share information about
simple changes in diet and
exercise that could help you
remain healthy.
The course is designed for
nurses (RN/LPN), social
workers, dietary personnel,
extension agents,
caregivers, health
educators, pharmacists and
anyone interested in
learning more about cancer.
Participants will qualify
for healthcare CEU’s.
