The Troy
University
Continuing
Education
Center
will
hold a
Cancer
Prevention
workshop
August 2
from 9
a.m. to
4 p.m.
on the
Dothan
Campus.
Every
year,
approximately
700,000
Americans
die of
cancer.
A recent
study
indicates
obesity,
poor
nutrition
and lack
of
physical
activity
contribute
to as
many as
one-third
of the
cancer
cases in
this
country.
During
the
seminar,
Dr.
Habiba
Shaw, a
nutrition
and
health
education
specialist,
will
share
information
about
foods
which
may help
lower
your
risk.
The
one-day
course
is
designed
for
nurses
(RN/LPN),
social
workers,
dietary
personnel,
extension
agents,
caregivers,
health
educators,
pharmacists
and
anyone
interested
in
learning
more
about
cancer.
Participants
will
qualify
for
healthcare
CEU’s.
