From peanuts to the Dothan riot and the railroad, explore
the rich history of the Wiregrass at Troy University.
Wednesday, August 24, the Senior World Group of Dothan will
host a free educational seminar titled “The History of the
Wiregrass.” The seminar begins at 9 a.m. in room 208 of
Adams Hall on the Dothan Campus.
Wendell
Stepp, Dothan Historic Preservation Commission chairman, is
the featured speaker. Stepp’s lecture will offer a complete
chronological tour of Wiregrass history. Items including
Indian relocation, farming in the region and the Circle
City’s murals will be discussed.
