FORT RUCKER – In conjunction with American Education Week, Troy
University will host Student Celebration Night at Fort Rucker
Thursday, November 17. Students, faculty and staff of Troy
University and the other colleges and universities on Post are
invited to attend the free event, which will be held from 6:30
p.m. to 8 p.m. in building 4502. Sub sandwiches and other
refreshments will be served; and door prizes will be awarded.
Prospective
students are also encouraged to attend to learn more about
educational opportunities available on Post. Early registration
for Spring Semester 2006 is November 29 and 30, from 9 a.m. to
5:30 p.m. Registration continues January 3 and 4, from 9 a.m. to
6 p.m.
Troy University
has been offering classes at Fort Rucker since the 1950s.
Students can earn bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice,
psychology, sociology, general business and management at the
Fort Rucker Location. A master’s degree in human resource
management is also available. In addition, TROY offers a number
of other courses and associate degree programs at the Location.
Adult learners,
who have not attended high school or college for at least three
years, may be eligible for the Older, Wiser Learners’
Scholarship (OWLS). The scholarship pays tuition for one,
3-credit undergraduate or graduate course at the Fort Rucker
Location or the Dothan Campus. Books, supplies and fees are not
included. The deadline to apply is December 6; and applications
will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
