DOTHAN –
Beginning in January 2006, Medicare will offer optional prescription
drug coverage to beneficiaries. Area seniors are invited to attend a
free seminar at Troy University to find out whether they qualify for
extra financial help paying the monthly premiums, annual deductibles and
prescription co-payments. The Medicare seminars will be held on the
Dothan Campus November 16, with sessions beginning at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
in room 208 of Adams Hall.
Under the new
program, nearly 19 million Americans may be eligible for extra
assistance based on their income and resources. According to the
Social Security Administration, those who qualify could save an
average of $2,100 per year.

information about the Medicare seminars, contact the Troy University
