DOTHAN - With real estate auctions becoming a popular
method of sale, not a just a last resort, the need for
real estate agents trained as auctioneers is growing.
Troy University is now accepting applicants for its
upcoming Auctioneer School, which will be held on the
Dothan Campus January 27 through February 5. The
program, which prepares students to sell everything from
land to antiques, is open to anyone over the age of
eighteen.
Students will conduct a live auction February 4 as part
of the educational requirements of the course. The
auction, which begins at 10 a.m. at the Convocation
Center at Northview High School, is sponsored by the NHS
PTSO. Proceeds will benefit student organizations at
Northview.
Admission to the auction is free. Concessions will be
sold by the PTSO. The organization is also accepting
donated items for the auction.
