A listing of the Continuing Education Center courses, seminars, workshops and conference offerings is published each term. Additional classes or workshops are made available upon request for either on-campus or on-site and tailored to a specific business, industrial or personal need. Contact the Continuing Education Center for listing by email or traditional delivery. Computer courses are scheduled for personal and business applications. The University Partnership for Alabama Continuing Education (UPACE): A three university partnership provides management level training for public agencies, associations, businesses and industries at locations throughout the state. The University partnership includes: TSUD, Jacksonville State University and the University of North Alabama. Small Business Development Center (SBDC): This center is administered by the Center for Business and Economic Services (CBES), a component of the TSU Sorrell College of Business. The purpose of the SBDC is to advise persons interested in starting small businesses, reduce the probability of failure and increase the profitability of small firms. Educational and consulting services are provided at no charge to clients. The SBDC also provides access to the Alabama Small Business Procurement Systems service, assisting small businesses in the region in securing government contracts. The Small Business Institute (SBI): Administered by CBES, this program links local small businesses to the resources and management expertise of the Schools of Business at Troy State University Dothan and the Troy campus. Continuing Education Units (CEU's) and Continuing Legal Education Units (CLE’s) are awarded to each individual who satisfactorily completes a non-credit activity. One CEU or CLE corresponds to ten contact hours of participation in a qualifying Continuing Education activity. Permanent records of CEU and CLE participation are maintained in the Continuing Education Office, and a transcript of units earned at TSUD may be obtained upon request. The TSUD Online Courses are
designed to cover the same material as the classroom-based courses but offer the
convenience of flexible scheduling and location by using the Internet, E-mail,
Chat Room and Bulletin Board to deliver the instruction. Campus presence varies
according to course. Some courses require exams that are given on campus.
Registration for these courses is completed in the same manner as for on-campus
courses, except that the student must attend an orientation session in order to
receive course information. Troy State University Dothan is offering an
online degree program in Master of
Business Administration (MBA). The T1 link with the Alabama State Video Network in Montgomery allows for interaction with schools through Alabama and access to any site in the world.
